Thermacool WP 51
Thermacool WP 51 is a single component water based high solidselastomeric clear emulsioncoatinghaving excellent pores sealing, crack filling and crack bridging propertiesin combination with cement. It is NANO enhanced, eco-friendly, user-friendly, UV resistanthaving multiple waterproofing applications.
- It has excellent elongation properties and UV resistance.
- It can beused as an ‘absorption/pores sealing’ coat,when mixed with water in the ratio 1:2 to 1:3 depending on the porosity of cementitious substrate,to prevent ingress of water and corrosive &erosive elements.
- It has excellent compatibility with cement.
- It can be used as waterproofing coat when mixed in cement in the ratio 1:0.5. For good results,min. 2 coat to be applied after sufficient time to cure the 1stcoat.
- For elastomeric cracks filing compound or floor and tile adhesive compound, mix Thermacool WP51 and cement without water till required consistency is obtained.
For New Construction
- New masonry/building surfaces must be cured completely to avoid effervescence
- Ensure that surface is completely free from all dirt, loosely held plaster, powdery residue, oil, grease or any other contamination.
- Application of paint should not be doneimmediately after a rain, during foggy weatheror when rain is predicted
For Existing Construction
- Remove mildew, oil, dust, dirt, peeling paint or other contamination to ensure good adhesion.
- Any previous growth of fungus,algae or moss needs to be removed thoroughly by thorough wire brushing and water cleaning. For speed of operation water jet cleaning may be used.
- Application of paint should not be doneimmediately after a rain, during foggy weatheror when rain is predicted.
Waterproofing and Priming with Thermacool WP 51
- For perfectly intact cementitious surfacesor surfaceshaving hair line crack,but no leakage issues, one absorption coat of Thermacool WP 51 should be applied before top coating with Thermacool 0.3C.
- If the cementitious surface has cracks and leakage issuesthan cracks should be opened and filled with Thermacool WP51:Cement mixture. This is to be followed by application of waterproofing coat/s using Thermacool WP51:Cement::1:0.5. Depending on the condition of the surface-one, two or three layers of waterproofing coats can be applied before top coating with Thermacool 0.3C.
